Barrett’s Metaplasia and Colonic Neoplasms Coincide in Identical Patients

More than 25 years ago, Sontag et al first reported an increased prevalence of colonic neoplasms in patients with Barrett’s esophagus. Many subsequent articles have been published, trying to confirm or refute the alleged association. In spite of these many publications, the true nature of the association between Barrett’s metaplasia and colonic tumors has remained elusive. View the poster here.
