Clinical and Histologic Spectrum of NSAIDs-Induced Injury in the Right Colon
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are a significant cause of morbidity and mortality. In the upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract, NSAIDs are known to cause ulcers/erosions and even perforation. Lower GI tract injury, especially of the right colon, has been described more recently, possibly because it may be related to slow release/enteric-coated formulations. The aim of this study was to determine the clinicopathologic features of right colon lesion caused by NSAIDs-induced injury.
